Top managers as the core of enterprise human capital would play an important rolein enterprise development. The ability of the top managers have an important influenceon enterprise’s management efficiency. Many companies have also recognized that thedevelopment of the competency model of top managers and improve the ability ofsenior management accomplishment is strong power of the enterprise innovation anddevelopment. Before lifting the top managers’ comprehensive ability, we need to selectthe appropriate method to evaluate top management. After getting hold of the topmanagers’ competency, according to the capacity requirement of top managers to carryout targeted training in order to enhance the competence.In this paper, we have defined such concepts as top manager, competency,competency model based on current theoretical foundation. Based on the analysis of themodel building method, we have set up the competency model of top manager of MCompany. This article uses the post analysis and behavioral event interview method toestablish the competency model including15indexes. And then, on the basis ofestablish post competency assessment standards,an appropriate evaluation method fortop managers post competency model is chosen. Then process the result from theassessment that based on the evaluation procedure.The competence score of eachposition is computed, and the result is evaluated and put into practice.
