| This essay aims to supply policy consultation for the strategy of Hong Kong's future regional economic cooperation through comparing and analyzing both sides'present situation. First, the essay analyzed the circumstance of the regional economic cooperation of Hong Kong and Singapore, found the difference on the participants of the agreements and cooperation strategy as well as the different affection on the area where they located. The essay points out that Hong Kong has fallen behind Singapore in regional cooperation field and the gap will limit the promotion of Hong Kong's role in southeast Asia area. Secondly, the essay investigates the origin of the difference using theoretical and practical method. It illustrates the reasons of the difference from different angles such as evolution of industry structure, the trade relationship with neighbored countries, the economic development strategy, international politics relationship, etc. At last, the essay gives the reasonable policy suggestion on the Hong Kong's future regional economic cooperation strategy on the base of the analysis above. |
