The Implementation Of Financial Management Information System And Reformation Of Financial Management About Electric Utility Company

The rapid advance and widespread application of information technology has fundamentally changed the business environment and management strategies. Under these new situations, financial management information system (FMIS) has evolved into maturity, and is gradually taking place of computerized accounting system. This has transformed financial management from static to dynamic, from post priori to real-time, which has dramatically expanded the functionality, efficiency and quality of financial management, and has improved the timeliness of decision making by enabling business and finance to function concurrently across time and geography. The application of FMIS will deeply impact the financial management and business management of enterprises and is worthy of research in depth. Based on the business characters of electric utility companies, their current and future financial management needs under the new situations, we have studied the FMIS currently developed by Electric Power of Henan (EPH) and related research literatures. FMIS is indeed an efficient way to improve the financial management quality and micro-management of electric utility company.
