Studies On Unemployment In Eastern Regions Of Germany After The Reunification

Having been separated for almost half centuries, Germany reunified on October 3rd, 1990. The Democratic Germany changed into five federation states in the unification Federal Republic of Germany and followed the system of former West Germany in terms of politics, economy, and society. Especially, its economy mechanism changed to social market economy comprehensively on the basis of rapidly privatization of state-owned enterprises. After the transformation the economy of eastern area obtained development in the short period. But there remained many problems, among of them, the serious unemployment question became the puzzle in entire Federal Republic of Germany. The article tries to analyze comprehensively unemployment question in eastern area of Germany after the unification. It describes the condition and reasons of unemployment in eastern area in last more than ten years and a series of consequences caused by, uses the measures adopted by government and other organizations as well as analysis the results of these measures. The main purpose of this article is to arouse us in the process of analysing the issue related to unemployment problem.
