With the development of economic globalization, international trade, as one of the three engines of economic growth, plays a more and more important role. But countries have paid great cost for environmental pollution while developing international trade, especially for those developing countries who export resource-intensive preliminary products in large quantities and receive polluted industry shift from developed countries. This has badly influenced People's life and even threatened people's healthy and life security. Trade and environment issues become more and more prominent, and have attracted attentions of countries all over the world. Economists view that the only way to coordinate the conflict of trade and environment is to take the environment cost into account, so that the product prices will include the environment cost. In this way, market malfunction will disappear. However, what worries developing countries most is whether taking the environment cost into account will have a neglect effect on the competitiveness of home industries. Considering this, the paper is trying to explore the relative relations between environmental protection intensity and industry international competitiveness by theoretical analysis and test examination then forward some policies advices on the basis of research conclusion.This paper firstly reviewed theories concerned environmental protection and industry international competitiveness, revealed cause and substance of international trade and environment issues, then analyzed mechanism of environmental protection work on industry international competitiveness from macro and micro angles. Afterwards, it drawn a conclusion that environmental protection intensity has no regularly relations with industry international competitiveness by testing the relative relations between Chinese environmental protection intensity and its industry international competitiveness. Furthermore, in order to further analyze the relations, I compared the international competitiveness of some Chinese polluted industries with those of South Korea. I forwarded some policies advices on the basis of research conclusion at the end of the paper.
