Foreign Trade Agency System plays an important role in the world trade business. It has a long history of tens of years in many countries including China. Foreign trade agency system means the foreign trade company offers the import and export trading service, and charge the agency fee, but do not responsible for the risk of the business.To promote the Foreign Trade Agency System is an important area of China's innovation of foreign trade system, especially for the state owned foreign trade companies in the market economy. In recent years, many scholars try to analyze the value and the feasibility of the Foreign Trade Agency System in some new ways, such as the theory of social divided work, the marketing promotion and the income and cost theory. Some of the researches reach a new high in this area.The writer makes an extend investigation of foreign trade companies in Shanghai, not only state-owned companies but also private companies. Moreover, the writer makes a study of referred materials of Foreign Trade Agency System, including the knowledge of the Economics and the Management theory. Connecting with the actual work experience, the writer tries to analyze the foreign trade agency mode of those foreign trade companies. The thesis summarizes the common theory of Foreign Trade Agency System, and its value and feasibility in China. By using the theory of Exchange Cost, Stratagem and Tactics, Risk Management, writer tries to point out the special meaning and the value of the Foreign Trade Agency Mode in such a special economic market of China nowadays. From the economy's point of view, we can realize the Foreign Trade Agency System has the advantage of collocating resources, innovating company's global competitiveness, maximize profit of enterprises. Therefore, the Foreign Trade Agency System is the essential area of the mature marketing economy.Based on these theories, we discuss the Foreign Trade Agency Mode on the real way, and compare it with the modem mode of the developed countries. The thesis points out the problem of China's mode on the core content, the executive way and the quit system. The essay also makes the suggestion of the improvement. The most important thing is to improve our laws and regulations of Foreign Trade Agency System. Secondly, the government should change its function, and to provide a good circumstance of economy in order to make a healthy Foreign Trade Agency System. The government should encourage the state-owned agency and the private agency as well as the foreign agency. Thirdly, we should make the information more directly, and regularize the foreign trade agency business. As a result, we may change the condition of the foreign trade agency mode from the procedure agent to marketing agent, and to meet the conditions of the mature marketing economy. Then we can provide a developing way of the foreign trade business in the world.In the last part of the thesis, we suggest those foreign trade companies to renew their mind, establish the modem enterprise system, improve the management of company. We hope to meet a new era of Foreign Trade Agency System in China.
