Research On The Control Of Mobile Communications Industrial Chain

Along with the imminent implementation of 3G technologies, the competition in China's mobile communications market will become much fiercer. The pattern of competition in mobile communications market will transform from the competition among individual enterprises to the competition among the industrial chains. Therefore, the researches on how to manage the mobile communications industrial chain, how to coordinate the various sectors of the industrial chain and how to allocate various resources of the chain are of great significance theoretically and practically for guiding the mobile operators to establish industrial chains from win-win perspective, so that all parties concerned can share prosperity to make mutual progress.By adopting Porter's Five Forces Model, Comparative Analysis and based on the industrial chain theory, control power theory and the core competence theory, this thesis analyzed issues regarding the environment , structure of mobile communications industrial chain, the classification of cooperation model of the mobile communications industrial chain and the control power of different cooperation models of the industrial chain. The core point of this thesis is: the mobile operators would rather control key nodes in the industrial chain to strengthen their control power than put their efforts in every step of the mobile communications industrial chain.The contributions of this thesis are reflected in the following aspects:1. By integrating the industrial chain theory, control power theory and core competence theory, this thesis discussed the feasibility of strengthening the control power over the mobile communications industrial chain from the perspective of enterprises' core competence for the first time. 2. This thesis classified the mobile communications industrial chains into two types: "full control of industrial chain" and "cooperation oriented industrial chain".3. Based on the revenue equation of mobile operators and mobile communications industrial chain structure model, this thesis systematically verified the necessity of strengthening the control power over the industrial chain for mobile operators.4. According to the characteristics of the domestic mobile operators, this thesis systematically put forward specific suggestions on how to strengthen the control power to mobile operators.The main conclusions of the thesis are as follows:1. Driven by multiple factors, entities that constitute the mobile communications industrial chain are undergoing rapid changes, and the chain will become more complicated, circuitous and open in the future.2. Considering the challenges facing the mobile communications industrial chain, it's necessary for mobile operators to strengthen the control power over the industrial chain.3. The key for domestic mobile operators to strengthen the control power over industrial chain is controlling the customers' interface and information distribution channel.
