Market economic started in china in the 1980s and industrialized progress has got the great results which attracted worldwide attention after twenty years of development. Among others, manufacturing industry has been the critical power furthering economic development and supporting industries. But, there is some failure in manufacturing industry, such as low productivity, serious waste.As a management science which raises productivity, reduces waste and reduces cost, industrial engineering has been playing the important role in many enterprises and has brought about many changes in factory production. For all this, we noted objectively that though our enterprises, especially for nationalized enterprises, have carried out industrial engineering, blindness and insufficient is showed for the purpose at hand and industrial engineering is even in a gimcrack position.The article aimed at herbing light duty truck Corporation which is a nationality enterprise just practicing industrial engineering. Application of industry engineering in this enterprise is still at the elementary stage and does not yet widely display the actual effectiveness. The article researches herbing light duty truck Corporation's conditions and improves the manufacturing system of driving-axle, the contents of which are that the layout of welding booth is improved by synthesizing the knowledge of system layout planning(SLP), the graph theory and the heuristic method, resulting in increasing productivity and throughput; the limited resources of the processing workshop is reconfigured by the method of sampling survey and building queuing model, and as a result, machine-free time is brought down; the flow of work is optimized by industrial engineering method such as flow chart, ECRS, stopwatch and so on, and the result showed operation time of bottleneck-stations is lowered and the efficiency of the assembly line soared.Not only do the researches of the article reduce the production cost and enhance productivity of the manufacturing system of driving-axle, but also the article itself is a successful case with reference to carry out industrial engineering. It also can boost up confidence to continually improve in this enterprise. At the same time, the article practices and improves the methods of industrial engineering, and synthesizes mathematics, operational research and human engineering according to principle of the relationship of theory to practice.
