Theory Research And Empirical Analysis On Investment Performance Evaluation In The Industry Of Mobile Telecommunications

Investment project performance evaluation is integrated grading system that taking investment effect and investment return into account. As a main stage in investment management and a supporting method helping company's decision-making, investment project performance evaluation is getting more and more attention from national communication enterprises. However, these evaluations are just beginning to be used in communication industries, both the coverage and the profundity of current evaluation reports are far from national telecom operators' requirement. These evaluations report are at most just a conclusion of project.The keys of doing good investment performance evaluation are to construct a reasonable index system and a grading method. This paper first gives out the concepts of investment performance and a survey of current national and international researches in this area. Then, from theoretical level, this paper study the evaluation used in mobile communication enterprises. By analyzing the content of evaluation and building a investment performance evaluation framework, a new and integrated performance index system is constructed. In addition, relevant studies on setting the weights in the index system are included. Beside theoretic study, this paper also provides a case study of a new service development project's evaluation using the evaluation system and methods provided in this paper. The case under study is a new technology investment of a provincial mobile communication company. In the end, suggestions and guidelines for doing investment performance evaluation in mobile communication company are provided. Hopefully, this paper would provide a reference and guidance for the future work of investment performance evaluation.
