| The process of product development is a complicated systems engineering, product developers of different departments and different subjects must cooperate to develop product in the total product life circle. With China entered into the WTO and the trend of economic globalization, the market is increasingly competitive and the corporations face great challenge. It's necessary to manage the total process of product development in order to induce design time, induce project cost and improve product quality. By analyzing the problem which medium and small corporations of china face in project process management, project network analysis technology and project monitor method are introduced. And then a visual modeling method for product development process based on extended activity network diagram is proposed. By introducing new modeling elements into old activity network diagram, the new method enhances the ability to describe the model. In order to realize the computer aided management for the process of product development, the author developed a visual process management system for product development based on product development project. The system which combines process management and product data management is developed to manage projects of Mechatronics product development, and it can manage all the related data of the process of product development. Because the system applies visual method of process modeling, the process of product development can be defined and the progress of project and all tasks can be monitored. The main goal of the system is to induce design time and project cost and to improve product quality. |
