| With the development of our country's industrialization process, the economy has evolved into its transformation stage, when workers' vacation demands have undertaken radical changes, hence the more importance of vacations. Under this situation, it is imperative to make a vacation reform, and it is practically meaningful to look back on our country's vacation system in history, to summarize and analyze its evolution, and to predict its future development. This thesis first presents several concepts and makes comparisons between them, namely rest, leisure, recreation andvacation. Based on that, the author summarizes three main functions of vacation--family gathering, consumption and development. The scope of seven vacation systems is also stated. Then several foundation theories from different subjects are presented, the one of economics is given more priority in particular. Next, the author reviews and concludes vacation systems' development history and status quo of China and other countries and districts in the world. With those foundation theories and empirical statistics, an Optimized Vacation System quadrant is constructed with the length and concentration of vacations as two dimensions, by which the necessity, issues and innovation measures of our country's vacation system reform are discussed. Finally, the author suggests the staged development directions of vacation system in accordance with our country's realistic situations, that is, with "Golden Week" as a temporary system, we will gradually step into the Paid Vacation Stage. |
