Qingwangchuan, 2070 km~2, 10.6 percent of Lanzhou, is one of the drought areas in Gansu central section. As flat and mass land, it is fitting to develop irrigated farming, stockbreeding and forest(grass) industry in the arae. By 1999, planted grain crops had been 29.4 thousands km~2 and output of grains was about 60000 thousands kg, oil crops were about 2000 hm~2 and total yields were 240,000,0 kg, vegetables were 90 hm~2 and yields were 180,0000 kg. At present Qinwangchuan have been biggest district, in which suburb agriculture of high efficiency and saved water have great potential, and also been the biggest bases of foods around Lanzhou.But Because of restriction of natural conditions, the structure of agricultural productions is monotony and natural resources were not sufficiently utilized. At present, agricultural production have many advantages but some disadvantages, including that (1) a plenty of land but bad fertilization of soils, (2) good irrigative condition but imbalance of season in water supply, (3) sufficient light resource and limited hot, (4) the diversity of biology resource and insufficiently development; (5) more and more serious. In Qinwangchuan, the technical system of agricultural integration development should sufficiently use advantage resources, and restore and rebuild environment, and greatly develop planting and stock rising, finally, gradually form sustained agricultural industrial structures.The technical systems of planting include introduction new varieties, demonstration of new rarieties and cultivation technique of high yields and good quality. By the works, good varieties cover above 95% in the areas, and the technique of wheat and corn covering with plastic film are applied in more areas.Stockbreeding is another main integration development technique. There are lack of feed and money and are low levels of technology in stock rising, it is necessary to develops livestock and birds which are depend on the food of grass and to increase production levels. It is very important to adopt intensivism and scale and to popularize new techniques. By the works, a base of good quality live stock product will be built in Qinwangchuan.Water resource plays key roles in sustained develoPment and is most limited factors. With fully operation of the Yinda projects, the ultimate solution of the water resource not only decisively improve the agriculture basic conditions, but also provide infrastructures for developing little city and rapidly constructing the districts of zhongchuan. The channel which protect from water permeation is a way of saved water needed less investment and time. It saves water about 46000000 m~3 per year. Otherwise, adopting limited irrigation, non-sufficient irrigation, local irrigation and so on can save water about 10-20% than routine irrigation method.In summary, according to requires of agriculture production and market at present and in future, in pattern of agricultural development, eco-agriculture model of agro-herd should be emphasized because it may make fully use of various agricultural resource, improve agriculture and herd production together. Eco-agriculture model of industrialization is very important. Modern agriculture is also selective developmental pattern and is the future of Qinwangchuan agriculture.
