A Research On The Development Of Service Industry In The Pearl River Delta Economic Zone

"Service economy" is an important feature of the modern market economy, in today's economic system, the service industry is playing a more and more important role, it become the main force to promote economic growth,create jobs,adjust the structure,expand domestic demand and enhance the competitiveness of industries. The service industry in The Pearl River Delta Economic Zone has achieved great development both in the quantity and quality in the past 20 years, the proportion of the service industry in terms of output or employment, has played a pivotal role in the economy of The Pearl River Delta. However, due to various reasons, there are some problems in the aspects of the general development level,structure,regional differences,efficiency,system and the degree of Socialization. With the degree of opening up in the service industry increasing, researching on the development features,internal features,the problem and the further development ideas of the service industry in the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone and its major cities are very necessary and significant.Based on the empirical study, this paper analyzing the overall development and structural characteristics of the service industry in The Pearl River Delta Economic Zone and its nine major cities, and trying to draw the development conditions of them and give some policy proposals to the main orientation of the development and how to further promote of the service industry.
