The Study On Disparty In Ecnomic Development Of Pan-Pearl River Delta

In the context of new economy, globalization, regional industrial reconstruction and the transfer, the disparity of the region at different levels in Pan-Pearl River Delta has new changes. The existence of disparities in regional economic is the foundation of cooperation and competition in the regions; however, the excessive region disparity will cause a series of social contradictions which can cause economic instability. So it is necessary to concern about the region disparities, understand the status quo of disparities and clear up the reasons for disparities.In this paper, regional economy disparities of Pan-Pearl River Delta, which is regarded as the main line, is studied by the combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative research, normative analysis and empirical study, the purpose of this paper is to clear up the status quo of regional economic disparities and the reasons of regional disparities in order to put up with effective policy proposals for reduces the region disparities through the comprehensive evaluation of economic development level, the dynamic evolution of economic disparities and of the decomposition of disparities'composition.First of all, the paper systemically induced and concluded the related results of the home and abroad regional economic disparities study, on this basis, the paper not only built comprehensive evaluation index system of the regional economic development level to evaluate the status quo of the Pan-PRD regional economic disparities, but also used single-target approach to inspect the dynamic changes of Pan-PRD regional economic disparities in 1992 ~ 2006.The study indicate that the geographical layout of the distribution and quantity were not seriously balanced in the Pan-PRD regional economy, the absolute disparities in regional economy were gradually expanding, but the relative disparities were relatively narrow. In order to find the cause of such regional disparity, this paper used the industrial structure decomposition and spatial structure decomposition to decompose the regional disparities. The results showed that: the regional disparities of between the second industry and the third industry, economic disparities of the city in the province and area disparities among east ,middle and west in Pan-PRD were the main factors of Pan-PRD regional differences; the spatial agglomeration change in the second and tertiary industries of regions and reconstruction within the industry was the main cause of regional disparities changes; the disparities between historical and cultural concept,the regional disparities in the environment,the changes of regional development strategy, the differences of regional economic development policies and measures, the disparities on infrastructure construction and urbanization process, the disparities of the government capacity and the degree of marketization,the disparities of economic structure and operating efficiency were the factors of the regional economic differences. Finally, according to the status quo and the reasons analysis of regional economic disparities, the paper suggested the proposals to narrow regional economic differences.
