Study On The Spatial Development Of The City's Central Business District (CBD)

Central Business District (CBD) is the fruit of the human being's civilization and the embodiment of the city economy. With the persistent increase in the economy, several large-scale or mid-scale cities have commenced building their own CBDs. A CBD's development upsurge is rising in the country. Starting from the discussions and understandings on the definition and characteristic of CBD, this paper explains the location, spatial shape and inner configuration of CBD in Changchun.Chapter one begins with the summary of the background of the research. It points out the purpose and the content, as well as the meaning and the configuration of the research. Chapter two summarizes current research direction and research value of this text by combing to domestic and international relevant research. It also gives the theory basic of this article, including: city region structural theory, central pace theory, land rent theory, Murphy and Vance's index theory, CBD's core and edge theory.Chapter three launches on the CBD's suitability about 50 cities in China. This part particularly discusses the process about the definition of the boundary of Changchun CBD. Firstly, It use SPSS software to forecast the dimensions about Changchun CBD. Then, it defines the boundary of Changchun CBD, using several quantitative methods.In terms of the location, layout and extent, Chapter four studies the spatial form of CBD. Especially, it analyses the spatial form of Changchun CBD, which is the key point of this topic. The author tries to makes every effort to make innovation in this place though always beset with difficulties.Chapter five gives an orientation about the function of Changchun CBD, and points out that Changchun CBD should defer to regional CBD to carry on the construction. It also analyses the Changchun CBD's spatial evolution tendency, finally gives the countermeasures to the construction of Changchun CBD.The last Chapter is the conclusion of this paper. It summarizes the main conclusion and the viewpoints, and pointes out the paper's innovations and the deficiencies.
