With the wide spread of globalization, the fast development of high technology, the continuous change of consumer preference and the more fierce competition in the market in 1990s, the environments of enterprise operation have changed deeply. In order to survive and develop themselves, more and more enterprises are on the way to implement business transformation initiatively or passively to keep up with the change of environments. By means of fundamentally transforming the nature and content of core business, enterprises can promote themselves entire transformation and regeneration. By combining qualitative and quantitative analyses, normative and positive research, mathematical model analyses and case study, this paper gives comparatively analyses on the topic of business transformation, and reveals its basic law. It systematically studies and discusses how to implement and manage business transformation, how to measure the performance of transformation, etc. All of these supply theoretic basis for Chinese enterprises'business transformation.Firstly, this paper profoundly illuminates the topic of business transformation in the aspect of connotation, characters, motivation, relevant decision-making content and type partition. Starting with the idea of business transformation, this paper defines its concept, formulates its major character, and explains the motive of business transformation. In view of overall situation of transformation, the thesis refines the relevance decision-making content of enterprise'business transformation, classifies business transformation qualitatively and quantitatively, and structures the discriminant standard for transformation.Secondly, this paper illustrates the subject of implementation and management of business tranformation systemically. It demonstrates how to put business transformation into practice in the line of direction and opportunity decision-making before transformation, choice tactics in the process of transformation, risk management of transformation and performance measurement after transformation have been completed. Building a set of appraisal indexes and using a goal programming model, the thesis deeply discusses the problem of direction choice. With the help of the theory of product lifecycle, this paper uses concept model and cubic polynomial curve to illuminate the latest and best time point of transformation. Based on the theory of game analysis and stakeholders, this paper analyses the process of game between players in detail. It is argued in this paper that the result of business transformation is the balance of game between stakeholders. Lastly, it studies risk management and performance measurement of business transformation.Finally, on the basis of theoretical analysis, this paper made a case study and an empirical research by selecting a successful enterprise and representative industry—real estate business, which offers certain real roof to previous theoretical analysis. The theoretical analysis result of previous article is testified and sustained. This paper draws some lessons from the case study. Constructing a set of measurement indexes and using stability analysis in data envelop analysis, the paper analyzes the performance change of listed companies which had a business transformation to real estate industry. This empirical research reaches meaningful conclusion.
