With the continuous deepening of the reform of the financial system, the financial market will be fully open at constantly, local commercial banks will face increasingly fierce competition. Additionally, the need of customers has become more diversified and individual. Commercial banks want to gain competitive advantage and win more customers, which requires continuous service innovation and improves service quality.Firstly, on the foundation of summarizing the domestic and international theoretical results on service innovation and commercial bank service innovation, this paper analyses deeply the connotation of service innovation in commercial banks. Secondly, this paper brings forward the motivating factors of service innovation in commercial banks at the base of analyzing traditional mode of driving forces of service innovation and does the exploratory theory hypothesis to the motivating factors of service innovation in commercial banks. Thirdly, this paper puts forward a framework of content of dimensions and explains each dimension linking with the activities of innovation of commercial banks in china. Fourthly, basing on the questionnaire investigation of eleven banks in Hangzhou, this text carries on the factor analysis to the sample data in order to classify the factor of motivating factors and content dimensions of service innovation. This research adopts multi linear regression analysis method to investigate the influence of every factor on commercial bank service innovation under many factors act on together in order to discern the key factors. The results of regression analysis show that factors of strategic management and organization play a key role in promoting the service innovation in commercial banks. Finally, the paper analyses the results of empirical test to obtain some management revelation. Also this text comments on the related problem which having not further investigated.
