Lifecycle is a basic question in the presentation of tourism spots. It has become one of the hotspots which scholars concern about. China's ancient village is a kind of unique but fragile cultural tourism resources. As the rapid development of the ancient village tourism in recent years, it has become an important part of China's tourism industry. However, research on the lifecycle of ancient village tourism spots is relatively laggardly.This essay selects the representative ancient village, the world heritage area Xidi and Hongcun, as the example of research on the lifecycle of ancient village tourism spots for elementary discussion. It mainly obtains first-hand data by questionnaire, discusses traits of the lifecycle of ancient village tourism and the influential factors of the development of the ancient village tourism by the system dynamics method, and builds the model of the development of ancient village tourism. The essay includes five chapters.Part one: IntroductionThe essay firstly expatiates on the background of subject selection, research contents and significance, and introduces the research methods, including the method of researching on the spot, the method of literature analysis, the method of qualitative analysis, the method of quantitative analysis and the method of system dynamics. Meanwhile, it introduces the generation information of research area.Part two: Progress of the research on the tourism spot's lifecycleThe essay reviews the main contents of the national and international research on the tourism spot's lifecycle, and expatiates on the demonstration of the tourism spot's lifecycle.Part three: General traits of market needThe essay analyzes the space distribution traits of the national and international tourists by statistic data and analyzes the demography traits, traveling aim, way, supply, motivation, action, public praise and effects of the national and international tourists. It also discusses problems existing in the structure of Xidi and Hongcun tourism market and summarizes the hierarchy of ancient village's target market, and the connection between the demography traits, traveling aim, way, supply, motivation, action, public praise and effects of the national and international tourists and lifecycle of tourism area.Part four: Dynamic model of the ancient village tourism area's lifecycleThe essay discusses the validity and applicability of the system dynamics to the lifecycle of tourism area, builds system dynamic model of common destination's tourism development and makes dynamic simulation for the development of tourism area. It analyzes the developing traits of Xidi and Hongcun and comes to the conclusion that Xidi and Hongcun are in the developing period of lifecycle. Meanwhile, it uses the system dynamics to build the model of the development for Xidi and Hongcun ancient village tourism spot, combined with traits of Xidi and Hongcun's national and international market need in chapter 3. It also analyzes the structure if Xidi and Hongcun;s tourism market and products, and analyzes the developing mechanism feedback of Xidi and Hongcun's short-distance and long-distance tourism market in the model. It offers countermeasures and proposals for tourism spot's lifecycle, concerning Xidi and Hongcun's tourism development problems at present.Part five: Conclusion and discussionFinally, the essay concludes that factors influencing Xidi and Hongcun's tourism spot development involve both inner and outer factors, through the analysis of Xidi and Hongcun's lifecycle and developing model. It also offers countermeasures for Xidi and Hongcun's ancient village tourism development in the future.
