This paper is focusing on the study of international competition capacity of an enterprise and how to promote the capacity of China National Petroleum Corporation (Abbreviated as CNPC). The purpose of the paper is to put forward the strategic goal and methods of improving the international competition capacity of CNPC by analyzing the international environment that CNPC has to face and the international competition characters of CNPC, compared with the multinational company.The preface of the paper introduces the importance and necessity of promoting the international competition capacity of CNPC by briefly analyzing the actuality of world oil industry.The first chapter analyzes the international competition environment which CNPC is facing .With the rapid pace of economic globalization, more complicated environment and more uncertain factors, CNPC eagers to rapidly cultivate and enhance international competition capacity and participate in sharing the world oil resources and market to ensure the national oil security and realize the strategic development of CNPC.The second chapter analyzes the factors and characters of oil industry, then it induces that the international competition capacity of a petroleum company includes the following 7 aspects: size, profitable ability, continuous development ability, technical innovation ability, marketing ability and multinational ability.The third chapter indicates that CNPC has advantages and disadvantages by compared analysis with main oil and technical service company. On one side, the advantage is that CNPC has strong competition ability in oil exploration and development, guaranteed predominance and relative competition in engineering technical service. One the other side, CNPC also has the following problems to solve: unreasonable refined and chemical structure, weak marketing, low degree of multinational, system and mechanism abuse and historical burden of state-owned enterprises. The forth chapter introduces the guidelines and the strategic goal of improving international competition by compared analysis with Chevron_Texaco and Totalfina-Elf Then it points out corresponding measures in management and culture construction according to the strategic advantage, potential and disadvantage of oil industry.2...
