Lots of new characteristics about market competition are presented along with the acceleration of economy globalization and integration, that is, increasing individuation, difference, and uncertainty of customer requirement, rapid expansion of product variety, and stricter request for delivery time. All these factors lead to the aggravation of "market disturbance". The traditional production, which could not adapt these changes any more, is replaced by Mass Customization in many industries.With the development of technology and productivity, the structure of the foodstuff industry has changed. And with our country go deep into the WTO,more and more Chinese company wish to go to the different country to improve their ownes business.Advantage of human resource has made Africa become one of the major countries to take the out-souring task of foodstuff manufacture in the world therefore there are some new traits in supply chain of African foodstuff manufacture. The thesis firstly reviews theories on supply chain management and the status quo in Africa. Secondly, the thesis analyses supply chain management in the case company - C, in an effort to find out the problems. Thirdly, suggestions for optimizing supply chain in C are offered from the perspectives of purchasing, production and outsourcing.This thesis uses 'C' Company to do the case study so as to find out optimized model of supply chain in foodstuff manufacturing companies in Africa on the basis of their specific characteristics. A company's competition advantage lies in the superiority in cost or difference. By carrying out Supply Chain Management, which emphasizes on the cooperation between the trade companions, the enterprise can supply customers with the products or service of less cost and more value. So recently Supply Chain Management becomes more and more popular in international enterprise management.This thesis hopes to help with the application of theories in foodstuff manufacturing enterprises by improve its working efficiency, decrease responds time of customers order, and even to highly promote its agility. Meanwhile, the study also offers some useful suggestions for the in formalization of other foodstuff enterprises towards the mass manufacturing trend.
