Culture conflict is an unavoidable and very important problem in the development and management of joint Venture. So it's a key for joint ventures to carry out effective transcultural management. First, This paper discusses the internal and external scholars'research results about this problem, points out the characteristics and deficiency of present research, sets forth the meaning, characteristic and double effects to joint Venture and its members of culture conflict. Then, this paper analyzes the causes of culture conflict in joint ventures from six aspects in details. They are ethnocentrism,sense of worth and attitude differences, custom and faith differences, education and law differences, barrier of transcultural communication, transcultural differences of management model. On the bases of these, this paper puts forward four basic principles that joint ventures should follow, five strategy choices and a series of concrete corresponding solutions. At last, the paper illustrates with the example of a Chinese-France joint venture which is called Guangzhou Biaozhi Car Company, analyzes the culture conflict roots of its disintegration and points out its instruction and model significances to the establishment and development of Chinese -foreign joint ventures.
