Since China's Reform and Open policy implemented in 1980's, there are more and more business communications between China and other countries. As huge consumptive market and having abundant human resource, China drew more attention from the world, she becomes a hot land for investment. According to almanac, there are 512504 foreign invested enterprises in China till Jan. 2005. The establishment of foreign invested enterprise accelerates China economy development and brings us advanced concept for enterprise management. While cross-cultural enterprise, especially Sino-foreign joint venture enterprise perplexed by many management issues from culture conflict.In America, many studies about cross-cultural management occurred in 1960s and 1970s, and those studies provided reference for cross-cultural enterprise. This kind of study began in 1990s in China. With more transnational corporations coming up and the expanding of their business, culture conflict gives more and more outstanding influences to management. Thus the cross-cultural management research based on local status makes a lot sense now.The introduction part of the paper mentions about meaning and aim of cross-cultural management study, also current related theories. The second part analyzes the cause and phenomena of culture differences and culture conflict in join-venture enterprise. The third part describes respectively related theories, including Hierarchy of needs theory, theory X and theory Y, Fiedler contingency model, also professor Yu Wen Zhao's CMC model. The case study on Y&C Company in part four and five, makes analysis on difference of culture model, management concept and management behavior, uses related theory, gives cross-culture management solution: take advantage of multi-culture, establish common culture model and business sense, enhance internal communication, set up management policy based on employee, take cross-culture training, and so on.Through above analysis and study, author expected to draw the conclusion: in order to achieve aim of business, cross-culture enterprise must emphasize culture conflict management; fully understanding culture conflicts; take effective measures to reduce conflicts, thus makes cross-culture enterprise run business efficiently and smoothly.
