These years, China communication industry has been experiencing rapid growth.Now, the growth pace has reached average 7million new subscribers per month. Up to 2008 January, there were 0.556 billion mobile phone users in china which account for biggest proportion of the number of world total cell phone subscribers. The mobile value added services such as SMS, colors SMS, WAP, have demonstrated its prosperity and potential, especially, the achievement of the annual grating and festival SMS, entertainment programs such as "Super Girls". This paper make analysis and study the development prosperity of mobile value added services by the means of connecting theory to practices and giving the fact that domestic and overseas market. This paper first clarifies the purpose, meaning, and ways of studying this subject. Secondly, explain the definition, classification, features, and its value chain briefly. Then, introduce the overview of its development of the domestic and overseas market and the discrepancies. What is more, dig out the causes why the slow development facts occur in china. At last, make total analysis for the competition environment by illustrating the challenges and opportunities and using the model of Porte's five effective elements for the competition analysis and this step play a important role in drawing the conclusion for the paper. Finally, propose the development strategy for better and faster development of china mobile value added services by integrating the previous analysis and demonstration and actual working experiences.
