With the rapid development of domestic market, diversification of economic components, as well as multiplicity of stock holders has become the major trend of the economy. Knowing the fact that fierce market competition aggravates the commercial bribery in different economic fields, which is considered a critical concern in economic life due to the companioned harmful impacts, the government takes actions against commercial bribery in most state-owned corporations and industries. However, it is difficult for the government to regulate those non-state- owned corporations and social organizations. Therefore, industry association is capable to supply the gap in government's regulation on commercial bribery through taking its particular advantage in enhancing industry self-control, industry self-administration and industry self-supervision.In the first chapter, the author introduces the basic conceptions of commercial bribery and industry association. After analyzing the harmful influences of commercial bribery and the significance of industry association in government's anti-bribery strategy, the author discusses Shanghai Provincial Government's innovation in corporation administration during the process of enhancing the development of industry associations. The second chapter is the analysis of industry association's five major advantages in preventing commercial bribery, which are corporation congregation, "two-way" function, industry self-control, independent subjective justness, and industry self-supervision. The analysis is based on the case study of Shanghai Architecture and Construction Industry Association. The third chapter concentrates on the problems that are encountered by industry association during the process of preventing commercial bribery, as well as the reasons of these problems. At last, in the fourth, the author makes suggestions on how to establish a proper system for industry association to effectively and sufficiently prevent commercial bribery.
