Research On The Development Of Wuhan Automobile Industrial Cluster

As the speed process of economic globalization and increasingly fierce competition in both domestic and foreign market , industrial cluster will be an effective strategy to foster the competitiveness of our country's automobile industry .Auto industrial cluster can improve the enterprises' capability of technology and production , reduce the cost , boost the level of service , and finally create the competitiveness in region . Automobile industry , as the characteristic and pillar industry in Wuhan , passing over more than 10 years , has made a great progress and huge contribution to Wuhan's economic development . Since sep 28th 2003, DongFeng company transferred its headquarter from Shiyan to Wuhan formally , and then , the investment in Wuhan by the three of ten automobile producers all over the world-PSA Peugeot Citroen , Nissan and Honda shaped the Chinese automobile's "Wuhan cluster" . However at the same time, it is the fact of life that Wuhan automobile industry doesn't have competitive power. Therefore, how to enhance Wuhan automobile industry competition is the focal question that puts in front of people. Precisely under such background, this paper studies Wuhan automobile industrial cluster from the competitiveness , according to Wuhan automobile industry own characteristic, and experience from abroad automobile industry cluster. The aim of this paper is to offer practicable strategy in terms of improving Wuhan automobile industry competitiveness.This dissertation takes Wuhan automobile industry as the research object, takes the competitiveness as the research tool, and takes the construction and development of Wuhan automobile industrial cluster as the research goal. With reference to the relative theories of regional economics, management science and industrial economics, using the tools of normative analysis and investigates, this paper has tried to construct the framework of development of Wuhan automobile cluster, in order to offer completely feasible blueprint.This dissertation divides into five chapters altogether: the first chapter, introduction. shows the background and significance of research , summarizes simply the development of automobile industrial cluster both in and aboard ; the second chapter, industrial cluster and automobile industry. It introduces the conception of industrial cluster and automobile industry, the advantage and type of automobile industrial cluster , and then summarizes the development of Chinese automobile industrial cluster collectively; the third chapter, analyze on the present status of Wuhan automobile industrial cluster. This chapter plays vital part in the whole paper. fist, it has summarized the present status of Wuhan automobile industrial cluster. second, it has studied the competitiveness of Wuhan automobile industrial cluster by using the diamond model of professor Porter. Last, it has found the drawback for the development of cluster. The fourth chapter, the development strategies of Wuhan automobile industrial cluster.
