Study On The Competitiveness Of Automobile Industrial Cluster In Chongqing

The industrial cluster has been the trend of economic development all over the world. Automobile industrial cluster is the combination of automobile industry and its related region. The city of Chongqing is trying becoming the central city of cars in China. But with the rapid development of global economy, competition between countries and regions is getting sharper and sharper. It's very important to make an exact assessment of the competitiveness of automobile industrial cluster in Chongqing and find out the means to promote its competitiveness of automobile industrial cluster in Chongqing.In this paper, we make a theoretic summary from the points about the competitiveness of industrial cluster research history and actuality, associated theories, characters and the methods of assessments. Based on those analyses and the megascopic function from the rushing-character of industrial cluster and cluster governance, we set up an un-linear model. By using it, we analyze the competitiveness of automobile industrial cluster in Chongqing.The results of the analyses show that: (1) It's better to use the un-linear model to describing the economic significance of the competitiveness of industrial cluster. And using the un-linear model can assess the competitiveness of automobile industrial cluster more exactly. (2) Through the comparison in 30 provinces and cities in China in 2004, the competitiveness of Chongqing automobile industrial cluster ranks the fourth throughout the country, only inferior to Jilin, Shanghai and Hubei. Furthermore, it is the leading place in the second group. (3) The advantage of the competitiveness of Chongqing automobile industrial cluster lies in the economic integrated capability and cluster function, especially the economic scale. However, it's weak the promoting potentiality of managerial ability. (4) Two sides' reasons lead to the lack of the competitiveness of Chongqing automobile industrial cluster. There are common reasons that each automobile industry in China faces, and the special reasons that Chongqing automobile industry faces.
