With the rapid development of domestic economy and high requirements to communicate with foreign enterprises in recent years, modern logistics have received more and more attention due to creating significant economic effects by transferring goods in terms of time and location. Warehouse is an important element of modern logistics. Automated storage outperforms more evidently than traditional storage in various aspects. However, since it is also a complex integrated automated system, and scheduling affects the operation efficiency of the whole systems directly, researches on the scheduling problems of corresponding in-out warehouse have significant values in the field of engineering application.The thesis does some research work on several problems related to scheduling of automated storage (SAS) and presents an efficient strategy on SAS based on the real SAS project. The main job of this thesis is briefly described as follows.(1) The state-of-the research and potential problems of SAS are summarized respectively in detail. On the basis of that, the scope and objective of this thesis are presented.(2) The necessity of frequency forecasting of in-out warehouse is proposed based on the analysis of factors affecting efficiency. Then, the rationality of application of time series approach to frequency forecasting in in-out warehouse is expounded. Afterwards, a frequency forecasting model of in-out warehouse is established and corresponding procedure and principle of proposed modeling are discussed. Finally, the proposed model is validated by application to practical projects.(3) Based on the frequency forecasting obtained by proposed forecasting model, an optimization scheduling model of automated storage is presented by introducing frequency of in-out warehouse as a key dynamic parameter to assignment of goods. Aimed at the characteristics of location optimization of storage, the improved genetic algorithm is used to implement the reasonable optimization of multi-objects among value of goods, frequency of in-out warehouse and time of operations.(4) The management system with respect to scheduling flow of in-out warehouse is implemented by using Visual Studio .NET and MATLAB. The exploited system and proposed model are used to study the storage location optimization and compound operations. The results show that the proposed scheduling strategy improves obviously the integrated efficiency of Storage/Retrieval System.
