The Allied Architects was one of the most important architectural firm which established by Chinese architects in modern Chinese architecture history. It was called Chaochen Architects founded in 1931. About one month later, its name changed as Chao & Chen Architects. In that irregularly changing Chinese society, the Allied Architects finally grew up as a successful company.The paper introduces the Allied Architects generally first. It founded in Jan. 1,1933 and disbanded in Jun. 1952 by three partners: Zhao Shen (Chao Chen), Chen Zhi (Benjamin. Chih Chen) and Tong Jun (Chuim Tung). Then with depicting its progress, the paper shows the background of their families and studying in Tsinghua School (as high school) and UPenn, and then particularly important events of the enterprise. While another chapter tells the character of the firm. First for the character of management, the paper contrast the Allied Architects and Jitai Project department in business, personnel and salary management. Second, it shows the detail of its character of space and style through several cases to conclude the change from various styles to relatively modern.
