The Empirical Analysis On The Relationship Between Economic Growth And Development Of Higher Education In Jiangxi Province

By the guide of theory of human capital and of new economic growth ,with the theory about the relations between the regional economics growth and higher education development, the paper will adopt the econometric model to research for the real relationship between two, which is on the basis of recent data of time series. Eventually, it will come up with the corresponding advices deprived from the research conclusion.Basically, the contents of this paper are organized as follow:Firstly, it is interpreted that the technical identifications of higher education and economic growth and the relative theories such as human capital and new economic growth, which can make theatric basis for the further empirical study.After that, the paper is to construct a couple of index systems to depict higher education development and economic growth respectively, on the basis of analyzing the Jiangxi higher education development and the economic growth present situation.Then considering from Jiangxi higher education development's quantity grows and quality enhancement it will adopt the econometric models such as Granger causality test, Cointegration model, to evaluate the co-relations between the two systems.At the end of this paper, going a step further, it evaluates the co-relations between the two systems from the structure of Jiangxi higher education development. According to the empirical study, the paper comes to the conclusions as follows:1. There exist the long-term relevance between the Jiangxi higher education development and the economic growth. Considering from the higher education development's quantity grows, although this kind of long-term balanced relations will appear unbalanced in a short time, it can be maintained in the short-term dynamic process of continuous adjustment.2 . Jiangxi economic growth is Granger Clause the higher education development, but we can not be sure the higher education development is Granger Clause Jiangxi economic growth. The higher education development to the Jiangxi economic growth's influence must be studied from the higher education development interior various factors.3. Considering from the number of students in school, there exist a inverse correlation between the higher education scale and economic growth. Considering from the investment to higher education, there exist a positive correlation between the higher education investment and the economic growth. The investment to the higher education investment is much positive than to the fixed assets considering the influence to Jiangxi economic growth.4. The coordination between the higher education development and the economic growth must be enhanced.This paper has its creativity of establishing ECM on the basis of Cointegration test, and drawing a conclusion that considering from the number of students in school, there exist a inverse correlation between the higher education scale and economic growth, considering from the investment to higher education, there exist a positive correlation between the higher education investment and the economic growth, the investment to the higher education investment is much positive than to the fixed assets considering the influence to Jiangxi economic growth. Of course, this paper has its inadequacies of failing to establishing a comprehensive model including higher education development quantity, quality, structure and benefit.
