Constructing Harmonious Society: The Corporate Responsibility And Its Accomplishment

It has deep-seated era content and theoretic signification to construct harmonious socialist society. As an important strategic policy, constructing harmonious society is the whole society's responsibility. Enterprise, as a cell of the society and the principal body of the market economy, is not only the producer and creator of social wealth, but also the important element and strong responder of constructing harmonious society. Thus, it certainly has realistic significance to study on the corporate responsibility and its accomplishment, and which is also this paper's main purpose. Based on the contemporary situation and the current problems, this paper seeks to propose some due behavioral choices for the enterprises. And specifically, this article is divided into four parts, which on the whole has a very strong logic.The first part is the introduction to the "harmonious society" theory, including the basic doctrine and concept of harmonious society, the destination, value and measurement of harmonious society constructing, as well as the constructors. And based on these, the Chinese enterprises must participate in constructing harmonious society.The second part, in detail, clear and define the corporate responsibility in constructing harmonious society: the responsibility as corporate citizenship, the responsibility from historical and realistic perspective, and the main responsibilities in constructing harmonious society including employees-oriented, customers first, serving the communities, recompensing the society and treating environment well. And the undertaking of these responsibilities could be valuable for the development of enterprises.The third part, according to present researches in China, analyzes the current performance and problems of the corporate responsibility undertaking of our enterprises in constructing harmonious society. And further, try to explore the causes: the economic backwardness, the imperfect market economy system, the deficiency of corporate social responsibility awareness, and the imperfection of corporate governance structure as well as the void of corporate value.In view of these problems and causes, the last part proposes some due behavioral choices for our enterprises to accomplish the corporate responsibility in constructing harmonious society from five aspects. Firstly, the enterprises should nurture the harmonious development idea and corporate social responsibility awareness. Secondly, the enterprises should carry out harmonious creating activities extensively and durably. Thirdly, the enterprises also need strengthen the building of corporate harmonious culture. Moreover, the enterprises must upgrade the harmonious degree of their public relationships with the relationship management means. And lastly, the enterprises need learn from the experiences of other countries, in order to perfect the mechanism of enterprises' participating in constructing harmonious society.
