Study On Impacts Of The Shanghai World Expo Economy Based On Cost-Benefit Theory

World Expo is a large-scaleinternational exhibition which usually be hotsed by the Government of a country.And multi-countries or international organizations participate in the Expo to show the achievements in the fields of social, economic, cultural and technological . Expo is known as the Olympic pageant in the fields of economic, technological and cultural which can not only bring development opportunities , expand international exchanges and cooperation, promote economic development for participating countries, but also can create great economic and social benefits,spread the reputation, promote social prosperity and progress to the Amphitryon.2010 Shanghai World Expo is one of opportunities for Shanghai's economic development ,which has a positive effect.on the building of international metropolis and international economic, financial, trade and shipping center of Shanghai. Expo impacts the host countries and cities by Expo economy.As an economic activity, you have to research the costs and benefits if you want to research Expo.And it has important practical significance on how to reduce costs and improve efficiency, expand its positive economic impact, reduce its negative effects.The content of the paper is divided into four parts. The first chapter introduces the research background,research methods, the innovation and lacks of. the paper. Chapter II reviews the theories of Expo economy and introduces the concept, characteristics, economic value composition and the cost-benefit analysis of World Expo. Chapter III analyzes the costs and benefits of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo by using cost -benefits method. Chapter IV analyses the economic impacts to Shanghai of 2010 Shanghai World Expo.By analyzing costs and benefits of 2010 Shanghai World Expo, I find that it can achieve little surplus if market exploit well and only calculating the costs during the period of World Expo operation; but if calculate the costs of allocation, construction and correlative infrastructure, it will get deficit.The impacts to Shanghai city of 2010 Shanghai World Expo include positive impacts and negative impacts. The positive impacts include direct and indirect effects. The direct impacts are comprise of directly stimulating economic growth, promotting job growth, promotting the development of related industries, improving infrastructure, improving the governance abilities, promoting city culture ,enhance the city's image and creating more open environment . Indirectly affects consist of promoting regional economic development, restructuring industry, upgrading human capital..The negative impacts include the "crowding-out effects", boosting the real estate bubble formation, the interests loss of non-beneficiary groups and the idle and excess facilities. Finally,I bring forword some measures and advises aiming at the negative impacts.
