In this research, a framework about the index system and direct and indirect factors that affect the international competitiveness is constructed to analyse the international competitiveness of the tea products in China, with the foundation of the industrial international competitiveness of Michael E.Porter and international trade theory. At the base of the international comparing, learning from advanced foreign experience and taking the actual situation into account, the main issuses of the research are put as the following.Firstly, with the international comparing of international marketing sharing rate, trading competitive index and comparative advantage index, it is revealed that the tea industry in China have the relative international competitiveness, however, which is far behind from that of the large tea export country such as Sri Lanka, Kenya and India.Secondly, after the international comparing of the factors that affect the international competitiveness, it is discovered that comparing with other major tea export countries, our tea industy have the price advantage, but this advantage is not made by the technological progress and high productivity level, it is a way of promoting sales. Our quality and sanitary system of tea is not perfect and the quality and sanitary condition of the tea products in China is far backward from that of the major tea export countries, especialy the pesticide residues in tea exceed the standard. This disadvantage seriously hampers China's tea export and the enhance of the international competitiveness.Although our tea variety is large, the added value is low. The effort to the product development is not enough. The proportion of organic tea and high-quality tea is low. Our tea industry is short of united industry management and social service organizations according to the production structure. The demand for tea in the market of China can grow in a certain mount, especially the green tea and the wulong tea, but still will face to drastic competition. The scientific and cultural qualities level of tea producer is low.The oral strength of tea enterprise is weak. The characteristic of tea products determines that the tea market needs the government's adjustment to get rid off market failure and to ensure to its efficiency. Comparing with other countries ,however, the adjusting ability of Chinese government for the tea products, which has seriously embarassed the enhancement of Chinese tea competitiveness, is far backward for meeting the requirement of enhancing international competitiveness.Finally, at the base of the international comparing, we can see that the tea international competitiveness of China has become lower ,so some methods should be carried out to change this situation. Specialization of tea production should be enhanced. Market structure of tea export should be perfect. Technique innovation should be enforced to get in touch with the world. System of safety and quality should be set up to deal with the foreign technical barriers to trade. Healthy trademark and marketing strategy should be implemented to improve the reputation of Chinese tea. The level of industrial operation should be improved. The government's function should be strengthened , the government should adjust and enhance the policy.
