With the development of globalization, the competition in manufacturing is more and more intensive. To adapt to the development of manufacturing infomationization, new theory and method are needed deadly. The research of process quality control methods, which is based on SOV theory, studies the essence of manufacturing process. Its attention is no longer focused on single working procedure or product quality, but the whole process and its parameters. This method will undoubtedly enable the enterprises to control both product quality and cost more effectively. So it is worth researching. This dissertation was focused on establishing an integration optimization model of tolerancing and maintenance based on the theory of SOV. The research tasks were as follows:Firstly, a systematic research was carried out to several essences in multi-station manufacturing process. Conclusion was drawn that tolerancing and maintenance method were correlated and statement was made that process-oriented tolerancing and maintenance research would play the key role in the future.Secondly, based on the research above, an integration of tolerancing and maintenance optimization model was established. Besides, three sub-models implied in the optimization model were studied respectively and mathematical relationship between total cost and tool tolerance combined with replace cycle was obtained. The optimization problem of the model was proved according to the knowledge of non-linear programming.Thirdly, an assembly process of a certain brand motorcar was introduced as an example and the model was validated through the'fmincon'function included in MATLAB. It was shown by the results that the proposed model had a better performance for quanlity control and analysis of multi-station manufacturing process than similar model.
