Research On Performance Measurement Of The Port Enterprises

In the recent years, great developments have taken place in the ports. It has being a fever issue that how to measure the performance of the port enterprises.Firstly, the latest viewpoints and theories of the performance measurement in the world wide are introduced. The practices of them in the ports are studied too. The BSC-CSF-EVA model, which is applicable to ports, is made in the base of them, which has been studied above.BSC-CSF-EVA is made from Balanced Scorecard (BSC), Critical Success Factors (CSF) and Economic Value Added (EVA), which are the most popular theories of the performance. BSC-CSF-EVA does the work like this, building the framework with BSC, finding the indicators with CSF, perfecting the finance with EVA.Secondly, applying the principle of BSC-CSF-EVA, considering the port enterprises in China, the writer found the Causal Chain, which can achieve the strategic goal and analysis the factors, which are considered when the hosts and shippers select the ports. In the factors, the writer finds the Key Performance Indicators and founds a performance measurement system, which is made up of 5 first-degree indicators and 18 second-degree indictors.Introducing and studying 7 kinds of measurement methods, considering the measurement system, the writer choose the Gray-AHP (GAHP) in the last.Lastly, the measurement system is applies to Tianjin Port Holdings CO., LTD. The performance of it in 2003-2006 is studied, and the reasons are analysis.
