From the end of the Cold War to the present, the issue of nationalism in international relations has been a noticeable problem. However, our academic study of the nation is slightly insufficient and biased, mostly focusing on political nationalism or cultural nationalism, while contemporary with the developing countries is closely related to the modernization process of economic nationalism is seldom mentioned. Economic nationalism is a kind of basic pattern of the nationalism, emphasizing that nation-states have the responsibility in the preservation and enhancement of the country's overall national interests, as well as the promotion of national modernization and the development of the country in the interdependent world economy. Economic nationalism is a neutral concept, which belongs to typical areas of political economics and international political economics. It includes complex interactions between the political forces and economic strength, power and wealth, the state and the market in the global economy.Saudi Arabian oil economic nationalism is typical in developing countries. Saudi Arabian oil economy had been through the course of the development of nationalism, which was successful practice of List's theory of economic nationalism. Since the 1950s, Saudi Arabia gradually promoted oil economic nationalism, relying on the strength of state power by legislative measures and nationalization. Oil economic nationalism ultimatly achieved success until the 1980s. Oil rights and interests also realized nationalization. While the success of oil economic nationalism, Saudi Arabia could combined social factors of production, and realized the development of the productivity by cooperating foreign capital and inspiriting education and scientific research, as well as the developing of private sector. On the basis, the oil economy in Saudi Arabia continued to develop after the Gulf War.The article has quoted List's theory of economic nationalism to discuss Saudi Arabian oil economic nationalism from the nation's role in oil economic nationalism, oil economic nationalism paying attion to cultivation and advance of productivity, oil economic nationalism combining social factors of production. So we can clearly see the nation's political function in oil economic nationalism, and profoundly understand oil economic nationalism's great effect on development of productivity and nation's economy, as well as the necessity of oil economic nationalism combining social factors of production. For this reason, I have set up the basic analysis frame of the international political economics-analysis mode that political science is combined with economics, adopted research approaches of the international political economics extensively such as social historical analysis, case analysis, overall analysis etc. It makes the analysis of Saudi Arabian oil economic nationalism economic nationalism rise to a theoretical level, highlight the theoretical value of the economic nationalism, explain the characteristic of oil economic's development, further clarify the Saudi Arabian oil economic development path, reveal the uniqueness of the Saudi Arabian oil economic development mode. I think that the research of Saudi Arabian oil economic nationalism will not only help to explain important motivation and confined force, but also make clear the disciplinarian factor of numerous and complicated phenomenon in the world. Furthermore, analysing Saudi Arabian oil economic nationalism and its development in the globalization background by the frame of the international political economics-analysis, which will not only enrich the research of nationalism, but have important and guidable value for explaining realistic policy that our country steadily develops nation's economy, and seeks economic devleopment strategy for adapting to oneself, and safeguards nation's interests in the globalization and regionalization.
