A Study On The Interactive Relationship Between Economic Globalization And Economic Nationalism

Today, though economic globalization behaves powerfully, it is still a kind of background strength, that is to say, in the international community, it is an environmental factor, but not a decisive factor. Comparatively speaking, economic nationalism is a kind of leading strength, it is mainly considered on the attribute of the sovereignty. The national countries realize that helplessly, under the erosion of the economic globalization, they have to incorporate to the global regulations to accept the restrains, and the government lives in the crack under the domestic and foreign pressure. On the other hand, the breadth and the depth that the economic globalization can have today, arise from economic nationalism to a great extent, it is because the untiring pursuit of the economic nationalism to power and interests for several centuries in the world that causes the global interdependent network and the general common topics. Though economic nationalism is suppressed by the power of the economic globalization, it can still rebound strongly, even destroy and put off the process of economic globalization to a certain extent, this kind of strength of economic nationalism comes from the fact that the national country is still the most important and strongest international behavioral body in the international community. There is complicated interactive relationship between economic globalization and economic nationalism, its core is that the economic globalization has stimulated economic nationalism to produce new forms, and the intension of economic nationalism has been developed. The unseasonable economic nationalism has been died out in the economic globalization, but some new positive economic nationalism has been produced. They accept the baptism of the economic globalization more voluntarily on the attitude, often appear with the appearance of the regional doctrine in form, pay attention to cooperation and unity even more in the action, emphasize the internal integration and external unanimity even more on the policy, thus they have realized the harmony with the economic globalization.Under the angle of the international political economy, the main task of the article is to scrutinize economic nationalism again and analyze the inherent logic between economic nationalism and economic globalization on this basis, for this reason, I have set up the basic analysis frame of the international political economy—analysis mode that political science is combined with economics, adopted research approaches of the international political economy extensively such as social historical analysis, case analysis, overall analysis etc. The article has tried to define the concept of the economic nationalism again by the thinking of multi-disciplinary- crossed, refuted some superficial, wrong, stereotyped understandings about studying in economic nationalism, explained the great theory characteristic of economic nationalism -combination of mercantilism and economic liberalism, combed the important economic nationalism theories in the modern times, done more systematic analysis to economic nationalism. On one hand the article has been proved that the economic nationalism can be in harmony with the economic globalization, on the other hand it has put forward the question between the third word's economic nationalism and international economic order, pushed the study of the interactive relationship between economic nationalism and economic globalization to deeper level. Inspired by the " world system theory ",the article uses " half edge " to explain the position of China's economy in global economy. I think, there is certain value in the abundance of the international political economy theory, in the cognition of the international economic order and in the explanation of the foreign economic polices from this kind of study.
