Economic globalization is the world tide beyond people's will; Ecological globalization is the world trend of simultaneous development of economic and environmental. Along with the acceleration of the process of economic globalization, international trade and investment have been expanded. In this context, trade liberalization and the issue of the relationship between environmental pollution caused great concern among scholars both at home and abroad. Since the past 30 years of reform and opening up, starting from the marginalization from the iceberg of global economy, China has made giant strides into the ranks of the world's economic convergence. Especially during the past five-odd years after China's WTO entry, China's economy is deep-seated, all integrated into the tide of economic globalization, economic openness consistently improved, import and export trade and foreign direct investment has become one of the driving forces to china's current economic growth.. At the same time, economic and trade development of China's impact on the quality of the environment is increasingly conspicuous, and has posed a serious threat to the whole country's sustainable development issues. In this paper, from the perspective both theoretical and empirical aspects, the impact of trade liberalization in Yangtze River Delta on environmental pollution were studied and discussed. The article is divided into seven parts:In the first chapter of this paper, the background and significance is outlined, and then a brief introduction on the content framework and structure was represented. Chapter 2, from the theoretical research and empirical study, there is a literature review and summarization on the articles relating to the relationship between trade and environment at home and abroad, together with a in-depth analysis and evaluation on the representative genre of model and theoretical school. In Chapter 3 a theritical analysis was conducted on the environmental pollution problem under the background of trade liberalization. The article firstly defined the basic concept, then studied the root causes of environmental pollution from the point of view of economics, with an emphasis on the three major environmental effects caused by free trade, based upon the above, an in-depth analysis was conducted on the impact mechanism of trade liberalization on environmental pollution. In the fourth chapter, the paper firstly analyzed and summarized the foreign trade status and characteristics of Yangtze River Delta region and recalled the development process of trade liberalization in the Yangtze River Delta region, coupled with a comprehensive inspection on the water, soil and air pollution in Yangtze River Delta region as well as waste emissions. In the fifth chapter, by means of time series and econometric panel data analysis, the impact of Yangtze River Delta trade liberalization on the environmental was empirically analysized and tested, and has drawn relevant conclusions consistent with the theoretical expectations. In time series analysis, we have adopted a unit root test, cointegration test, Granger causality test, impulse response function analysis and analysis of variance decomposition in analyzing the long-term equilibrium relationship, two-way causal relationship and short and long-term dynamic inter-effects between environmental variables and pollution. In the analysis of panel data, we, on the basis of setting a scientific model, used the cross-section weighted regression method to assess the cale, structure and the effect of trade liberalization on environment pollution, and made a detailed analysis and comment. In Chapter 6 of this paper from the three levels of government, enterprises and the public, a number of policy proposals was advanced as to how to promote the coordinated development of trade and environment in the Yangtze River Delta region . Chapter 7 of this paper is the conclusion of the study and prospect.Through this study, on the one hand we hope to conduct a comprehensive analysis on the inherent mechanism of the impact of trade liberalization on Yangtze River Delta pollution both theoretically and empirically with a view to complementing the curren research in the field; on the other hand we also hope, from the perspective of reality, in-depth studies will be made on the relationship between trade liberalization environmental pollution, while accurately grasping the intrinsic link between the two factors, then hope that the research will serve as a guideline for other regions of China in properly handling the relations between trade development and Environmental Protection.
