Research On Scope Management Of Urban Transport Hub Project

As to the large public transport project such as Tianjin Transport Hub which has large investment,long construction phase and complex stakeholder relationship, poor management usually leads to progress delay and increases cost, but these could be avoided by reasonable scope definition in early project stages, and the following effective control. The thesis analyses the project scope management in transport hub, which is developed from demand analysis to target analysis, then to definition project deliveries, and to scope control finally.It is clear that scope definition is useful for the improvement of project performance and is of great importance for project success by literature review. Satisfaction from stakeholders being one of project success criteria has been agreed by so many researchers. The project demand of transport hub, which is accomplished through project goals, is clarified by analyzing stakeholders and cataloging physical interface. As a temporary organization, project of organization characteristics need to be considered both in external environment and internal environment through SWOT to make the strategic position of project clearly, then the project goals system can be established through AHP. Various goals priorities can be formatted by mathematical models. It is obvious that project deliveries, which can be used to control the project scope, are realized by applying WBS for project target.The project construction phase is divided into the preparation phase, the construction phase and the completion of formal acceptance stage. The scope control should emphasize on the three main stages, critical control points of each stage should be analyzed and responsibilities and control methods of control duties should be clear.Through the above analysis, some references are hoped to be given for scope management of similar projects.
