Historical Inspection About Sovereignty's Return Of Modern Chinese Maritime Customs

This thesis as the guide to Marxist historical materialism, as the basis to true literature of history, makes full use of the method --"theory of history", learns from and absorbs research results of predecessors, conducts a comprehensive,systematic and historical inspection about the sovereignty's return of modern Chinese Maritime Customs. Maritime Customs is an important executive for supervision and management of the national entry-exit affairs. Chinese Maritime Customs has a long history, before the invasion of Western capitalist powers, Chinese government is the master of Chinese Maritime Customs sovereignty. For more than 100 years from the Opium War to the liberation of the country, the imperialist powers have occupied our country's Maritime Customs sovereignty, they not only won China's tariff autonomy by virtue of the unequal treaties, imported goods at very low tariffs, even of duty-free, Plundered cheap raw materials, hindered the development of China's agricultural,industry and trade; but also seized the right of the Chinese Maritime customs administration and the tax payments custody, and interfered in China's internal and foreign affairs by Chinese Maritime customs, won many other privileges.The modern Chinese Maritime customs governed by the system of foreign commissioner, own to China nominally, with some color of capitalism in administration and the business system, however, in essence, is the tool for the imperialist powers to loot the people of China. This thesis tries to make some analysis and instructions on the difficult process to recover sovereignty of the Chinese Maritime customs after the Opium War and the major lessons learned, to demonstrate that the establishment of the people's Customs coming not easily, and to commemorate the ancestors who made a long-term struggle and was heroic dedication for the Chinese revolution and recovering sovereignty of the Chinese Maritime customs.
