| As one of the industries that welcomed foreign investors earlier than others, the hospitality industry of China has become a very competitive field with so many participants. In recent years, with an optimistic anticipation on the potential of the Chinese market, more and more international hotel groups entered into the market aggressively. As the result, the hotels are facing even more keen competitions. In this situation, how to optimize the usage of resources and become the market leader while adapting to the changes of outside environment? All the hotel management need to work out this question. Good adaptations to outside environment are built on the base of internal harmony which will be ensured by formalization and enhancement of internal control.This article reviewed the history and achievement of development on internal control theories and focused on the COSO internal control integrated frame. With the COSO frame as the guidance, the article discussed what kind of internal control system shall be built in the hotels and how. The article is aimed to provide an idea and direction for the practice of internal control in hotels.The article is composed of 5 chapters. Chapter 1 introduced the idea of building internal control system in hotel enterprises with the guidance of COSO internal control integrated frame as well as the background, objectives and methods of the research. Chapter 2 reviewed the different phases of internal control theory for a thorough understanding of the origin and development of that. The objectives, the content and the effect of COSO frame are also elaborated in this chapter. Chapter 3 introduced the current situation of internal control practice in hotel enterprises and pointed out the weaknesses that need to be improved. Chapter 4 is a design of internal control system in hotel enterprises under the guidance of COSO frame. As a method to ensure the effectiveness of internal control, assessment of internal control are discussed in Chapter 5. |
