Analysis On Competitors Of Chinese Securities Based On Market And Resource

Traditional industry researchers study the competition statue from two areas: market and resource. Theory of Industrial Organization thinks the market structure can affect the market conduct, and the market conduct can affect the market performance. Resource base theory thinks the competitive advantage due to the core of the resource and capability. This paper integrates two theories of market and resource, researches the Chinese securities industry based on the competition analysis framework.This paper selects the 20 biggest securities companies, researches the competitors statue of Chinese securities industry through the market commonality and resource similarity. The results show that: The largest securities companies don't concern the small competitor usually, but the small competitor often analize the largest companies when they competite in the geographical market; the competitor depends on each others, the most similar competitors may be not the direct competitors.This paper will help us understand the competitive relationship and the competitive behaviors of the securities companies. At the end of paper we point out the shortcomings and areas for further study.
