With the economic development and the improvement of people's living standards, vegetable distribution has been becoming urban consumer's objective need. After over twenty years' reform and development, large and medium-sized cities have already possessed economic environment and market condition to develop urban vegetable distribution. The industry develops very rapidly, is playing an important role in vegetable circulation and even agricultural products circulation. However, the industry in China is still in the initial stage. There are still many problems in operation management, logistics resources integration and other aspects, which restrict its rapid development. Therefore, a research on the issues has great practical significance. This thesis firstly expounds current situation of urban vegetable distribution in China, and then reveals the issues which restrict development of the industry by analyzing the actual situation in Beijing and Shenzhen. Complicated distribution model induces high prices of vegetables, big transportation loss and enormous waste of logistic resources; The unreasonable layout of distribution network increases distribution costs and reduces the efficiency of distribution. About the distribution model, this paper puts forward distribution network model, elaborates on the characteristics of the model, organizational structure and operational processes. About the problem of designing distribution network, this paper sets up a LRP (location routing problems) model. It designs the program to solve the model by using improved genetic algorithms(GA) and the gatbx toolbox of Matlab, uses test data to verify the feasibility and availability. The distribution network model is good to reduce distribution costs, integrate resources and improve delivering efficiency. The LRP model and algorithms provide theoretical guiding significance to design distribution network.
