The Analysis Of Liaoning Province Shipping Industry's Impact On National Economy

During "11th Five-Year Plan" period,the economic and social development in Liaoning has gradually entered to improve the quality of life as the main goal of building a well-off society ,which will bring about the shipping industry unprecedented opportunities and challenges.In order to meet this,how to develop the shipping market in Liaoning Province should arouse the management department on close attention.This thesis uses the computable general equilibrium model (CGE for short) to simulate the entire operation of economy and the impact of shipping industry to national economy. In the academic field, most of researchers always use input-output model (I/O for short) to solve problems like the influence of every industry to national economy as a whole. Comparing with I/O model, CGE can simulate the operation of economy more precise.The whole thesis is organized in 6 chapters. The first two chapters introduce the background and give an overview of literature respectively, while the rest of paper is generally divided into two parts: the CGE modeling and case implementation. Chapter 1 is the background introduction, and then reviews the relevant research on CGE model. Chapter 2 first traces the definition of shipping industry and the actuality of China shipping industry. Then introduce and analyze the development actuality of Liaoning province shipping industry. In the chapter 3, the basic theory system of CGE model has been described, including the basic ideology, character, frame of the model. The fourth part presents the model, comprising model tentative, parameters, variables and equations of the CGE model. The next chapter is the data source and the solution of the model. It focuses on how to construct Liaoning SAM and how to use the software GAMS. The last part is the case implementation. These hypotheses can give a conclution about the effection of Liaoning shipping industry to the economy.
