With the sustainable development of global economy,the trade volume demonstrates the situation of fast growth.And this trend also results in the development of the liner shipping.The competition between liner companies turns more serious.In order to benefit from the scale economy,the container ships become larger and larger. Therefore,the structure of the global liner shipping network has-changed into the hub-spoke liner shipping network.In view of the situation described above,from the cost-efficiency angle,this thesis optimizes the liner shipping network.The object is to help the liner company to utilize the fleet reasonably and improve the cost-efficiency of the network.This thesis is divided into six chapters.In order to have an overall understanding on VLCS nowadays,chapter 1 analyzes the current condition,development process,general situation of VLCS fleet,points out that VLCS influence the shipping industry deeply. chapter 2 analyzes the economy,and moderation development of VLCS,and.points out that the advantage of the VLCS ties in its scale economy.This chapter also explains the supervision factor of the VLCS's scale economy,carries on the evaluation to,the scale economy.Chapter 3 analyzes the relationship between the ships and ports of the VLCS age,and also analyzes the development trend of the ports.Chapter 4 builds up the linear program model according to the concept of cost.Then applies the model into a real case from company C,and analyzes the results.Then,this part puts forward two scenarios to compare with the current network and comes to the best scenario.The end,base on the above analysis,this text proposes some suggestions and development counterplan of the VLCS.
