The insurance industry is at its primary stage of development,with a late start, a weak basis and a narrow coverage. The salesman in the insurance industry is important, whose performance of their corresponding duties will decide to a great extent the success of the industry. It's important to establish an effective motivation mechanism, so as to fully activate their initiative, help with the promotion of their operating ideas, take content growth and intensive development path, which are important for the realization of a path taken in the long-term interest of the shareholders as well as those policy-holder.The essays mainly adapts philological research and case analysis method as research method as main research methods. Through philological research, it gives a summary to the motivation mechanism research both domestic and abroad. Citing Manulife-sinochem Insurance Company as an example, this essay gives a general description of the motivation mechanism in terms of the training, compensations and welfare as well as performance assessment in this company. Moreover, the essay points out the problem existed in motivating the insurance salesman; analyzes the causes of the invalidation of the motivation mechanism conducting presently, and also offers a structural reconstruction in motivation mechanism. This new kind of motivation mechanism includes the combination of wage rising and welfare guaranteeing; and establishes practical motivation mechanism which combines of talents cultivating and utilization; it contains setting effective hidden motivation mechanism and rigid constraint mechanism and how to conduct these new mechanism properly. Meanwhile, invigorative wage system, proper career planning, strict staff employ, new salesman management system and elaborate company culture are required.It also offers a structural reconstruction in motivation mechanism for Manulife-Sinochem Insurance Company as well as other related means to implement. It aims to offer valuable references for the better constructing and implementing motivation measures for enterprises, with the experiences and lessons of Manulife-sinochem Insurance Company.
