| The retrieval of orders from storage is a core faced by distribution centers. In order picking operation, order pickers always pick oders in two ways: Strict Order-Picking and Bantch Picking. A new way has been developed in this essay: Optimized Order-Picking. In this essay, based on the storage model, an order-picking heuristic algorithm is developed. Combined Strict Order Picking and Batch Picking, this heuristic algorithm presented can shorten the touring distance of new orders in order-picking zone, bring on fewer orders delayed and reduce tardiness penalties. Improving customers' satisfaction is also taken into consideration. And it is also easy to operate in distribution centers. |
