Research On The Method Of Identifying The KPI Of Project Management

With the constant deepening of China's reform and open, and the rapid development of economic, the diversified large-scale investment projects have been increasing. These projects play key roles in the social stability and development of sustained economic in China. Compared with other industries, the large-scale projects are labor-intensive, plenty of indicators owned, long construction cycle run, high cost paid and one-time used, etc. These characteristics mentioned-above essentially determine the difficulties of large-scale project management. Therefore, the requirement of the project management level has also been growing.This paper discussed the basic concept and ideology of project management, which mainly focuses on an analyzing of the unity and opposites relationships among cost, quality, and schedule of the project management. Based on the analysis of project management, the significance of establishing Key Performance Indicators(KPI) system in the project management is addressed. Currently, simple top-down identification of the KPI system, can not well meet the project management needs, as a result, leading to incomplete KPI system. In order to match the special demands of large-scale project management, association rule mining is introduced in this paper, which is useful to amend the traditional method of identification the KPI; thereby some relative key performance indicators system is obtained to meet the requirements of project management. Finally, based on the background of the Three Gorges Project, the initial attempt is done to identify the KPI of project management: firstly initially identifies KPI system, and refer to various KPI for correlation analysis; then it amends the candidate indicator by means of the data mining method; and finally determinates some relative key performance indicators for project management.
