Study On The Follow-ups Of Highway Loan Financing

As the important symbol of modern road transportation, highway plays the leading role among various means of transportation. It is an important measurement of a country or a region's economic development. With the rapid development of China's highway industry, we have achieved, in over 20 years, what other countries normally have to accomplish in 40 years. In recent years, although we have accomplished a lot in highway construction, we have serious problems in funding, as are shown in the following two aspects: first, the current highway financing structure is irrational with bank loan assuming too large a proportion. Thus, the pressure of repayment is heavy. Second, the fund for the future development of highway industry is in gradual shortage. Based on the current situation of China's highway loan financing, this paper points out the existing problems in our highway loan financing and makes a deep analysis of those problems: learning from the foreign experience in highway construction and combining with the distinct features in our highway loan financing, this paper offers some schemes and proposals in settling the follow-ups of highway loan financing. Through reforming the highway financing system and developing new financing channels, we can take full advantage of government investment and bank loans actively and safely, make full use of the capital market to liquidize assets, increase the ability of loan repayment of highway businesses and relieve the financial struggle.
