In the new century, Regional economic integration and economic globalization have become the main tendencies of the world's economic development. And the regional economic integration is developing at a faster speed than globalization: the regionalization wave in form of FTA, Customs Union is sweeping across the world, taking the way of regional cooperation to realize dual-win is the common choice of most countries. As one of the most robust economic regions, Asia-pacific region and its members are actively joining in regionalization wave; new restructuring, division and pattern appear.Facing the world-wide regional economic integration, how could China accelerate its internationalization and regionalization ,with new idea ,active attitude and realistic strategy, to promote the fluidity of production factors and resources integration with other neighbors or regional partners , then to create an international environment beneficial to the nation's economic development? The above-mentioned problem is now the focus of Chinese government and academic domain. As to China, which is in its industrialization process, the nation's economic development should certainly be accompanied with the transformation of industrial structure, just to say, the speed and degree of China's industrial structure promotion reflect its economic development situation. Therefore, it is of realistic and innovative sense to study the industrial division basis and cooperative effects of China's regional economic cooperation in Asia-pacific region, from the view of industry. The paper is divided into five chapters. In Chapter One, we first give a theoretical review of the literatures about regional economic integration, most of which are relevant to industrial development field. Chapter Two then briefly introduces the international background, process and features of China's participation in regional economic integration. In Chapter Three, from the view of industry, we choose some main regional cooperative partners of China in Asia-pacific region as the analytical objects, and analyze the relationship of industrial structure and industrial division between China and these partners. Then we come to a conclusion about the industrial division basis and characteristics of China's foreign regional economic cooperation. Chapter Four studies the impacts on China's industry, which result from China's participating in regional economic integration and signing Regional Integration Agreements (RIAs) with other partners. The methods we use are to modify the Cournot Competition Model and calculate the G-L (Grubel & Lloyd) Intra-industry index between China and its regional partners, from theoretical and empirical aspects respectively. The third part of Chapter Four includes an Econometrics model, which is established to examine whether the signing of RIAs is a significant factor that can influence the Intra-industry trade between China and other countries (regions). In Chapter Five, on the basis of the analysis and conclusions above, and according to the problems lying in China's regional integration process, we put forward some suggestions on what kinds of industrial policies China should make and take. The final aim of these policies is to promote the economic cooperation between China and other Asia-pacific countries (regions), and to accelerate China's industrial development and industrial structure upgrading with the strength of regional integration.
