With the rapid development of trade in service, it has become more and more severe part of the world economy, and the international competitiveness of trade in service turns to be an important factor to evaluate one country's competitiveness. Currently, foreign service suppliers have been pumped into Chinese market to grasp market share. Therefore, when Chinese market is gradually opened to the world as the promise made since the entry of WTO, how to deal with the intense competition and how to improve the international competitiveness will be worth to analyze.Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippine and Thailand, as the neighbor of China, are developing countries with similar characters of trade in service. It is significant and useful to analyze the international competitiveness of ASEAN-5's trade in service, which assist our competitiveness of trade in service.Based on the appraisal system, this paper aims to evaluate the competitive advantages and disadvantages in ASEAN-5's service in trade, analyzing their influence to improve our competitiveness.Through the analysis, the main points have been made as follow:For the overall competitiveness of trade in service, Singapore performs well while the other four countries are relatively weak. For the specific industries, all the ASEAN-5 are strong in tourism, and Singapore has relatively strong ability on other commercial services while Malaysia and Singapore are good at the transport industry. It is deemed in the paper the most important factors influencing the competitiveness of trade in service are comparative advantages, politics and the outsourcing of international companies. Finally, this paper gets some enlightenment from the situation of China and the experience of ASEAN-5.
